I believe quality consultation/supervision roots us in our clinical values, deepens our relationship with our clinical judgement, confronts blind spots and vulnerabilities, helps identify biases, and leaves us feeling rejuvenated and curious. Clinical consultation is vital throughout our careers, not just when we are first starting out. It can help us not only continue to grow as therapists, but can also help alleviate burn out and self-doubt. I approach this role with a compassionate, direct, playful, honest and upfront nature. I encourage growth by asking meaningful questions, keeping you grounded in your individual approach as a therapist, and inviting self-reflection and self-awareness. When relevant, I will also give direct suggestions that still give room for your unique approach. I bring an anti-oppressive lens, working to help you understand how themes of power, privilege, oppression, and the various systems keeping these tactics in place may be showing up in the work. I create space to not only address clinical concerns but also to discuss your career goals and hopes and how to work towards achieving them.
I have experience working with Master’s level interns, preliminary licensed individuals, and fully licensed individuals. I have worked with individuals in community mental health, group practices, medical offices, and solo practice. I have engaged in consultation with counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists. While I have experience working with clinicians of all types, serving a variety of clients, my deepest expertise lies in working with transgender, gender nonconforming, non-binary, queer, and sexually diverse clients. I additionally have experience working with ADHD and issues related to executive functioning, group therapy, and providers wishing to explore the challenges of being LGBTQIA+ identified and working within the community. Many of the consultees I have worked with enjoy exploring their cases through my Narrative Therapy lens.
While I believe there is value in creating an ongoing supervisory or consultation relationship, as this allows me to become familiar with your particular style, work environment, and clientele, I am also able to provide single session consultation as well. Whether single session or ongoing, I can work with you on specific clients, questions, or themes, and focus on the issues that are most salient to you. I am flexible with frequency of meetings, with some individuals choosing weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly meetings.
For preliminary licensed individuals, I provide supervision for LCPC and LMFT licensures. I have extensive experience providing support specifically to emerging clinicians, which I believe also includes consultation relating to professional identity development, job searching, and career exploration.

"Kelly has a way of gifting me with the reality of a situation while minimizing the shame that so often accompanies a difficult truth. Kelly's capacity to have a sense of humor while treating difficult situations with the care and seriousness they call for facilitates an environment in which I can use my mistakes as opportunities for growth. Kelly models keeping boundaries present and uncompromising without sacrificing humanity and genuine connection. Kelly has a wealth of knowledge and experience that has served as continued education. They are additionally mindful to validate the knowledge I have so that I can enter therapeutic relationships with confidence and humility." -Isaac Samuelson
